Northern Illinois Halloween Windstorm Aftermath

Just when I thought I was done with yard work til spring arrived, look what landed in my back yard. The invasion of the corn stalks and husks!

It was just last weekend that I finished raking my leaves, now this. Now I have to admit I love corn (sweet corn), but not this much.

If you live on the edge of town when the wind blows you, you often end with a small treat or two in your yard. The National Weather service estimates that the winds on Halloween were blowing out of the Northwest between 20 to 30 mph, with wind gusts up to 40 mph.
