Ahh... Summer is here! Everything is so green and beautiful looking!

All weekend long I was surrounded by the familiar whirring and buzzing sounds of lawn mowers.

Did you know there are wrong ways and right ways to mow?

You should never mow in the same pattern and direction. In a sense you're lawn gets used to that same route you take over it. We need to change it up.

Also, we should only cut a 1/3rd of the height of the grass. So if your grass is 3 inches long, you should only cut off an inch.

This article from the weekend gardener gave a lot of in sight on how to keep our lawns looking lush and green.

By the way, with Father's day coming up on Sunday. Does your Dad's mower look like it's seen better days? We have a way for you to win a brand new Snapper rider mower from our friends at Tractor Town and the Illinois Machine Shed. Visit Tractor Town's Machesney Park or Belvidere locations or stop by the Machine Shed to sign up!
