Champaign, Illinois-based sandwich chain Jimmy John’s is warning its customers of a "possible security incident involving credit and debit card data."

Approximately 216 Jimmy John's locations arounf the country were affected. If you used your credit or debit card at one of the corporate and franchised locactions between June 16 and Sept. 5 of this year, check your credit card and bank statements closely.

According to a notice posted on the company's website company officials it appears that:

Customers' credit and debit card data was compromised after someone stole log-in credentials from a point-of-sale vendor, and used the information to remotely access the systems at the individual stores.

 

The security issue has been contained and the company says customers can continue using their credit and debit cards securely at Jimmy John’s stores. Third party forensic experts have been brought in to assist with the investigation.

  • 0024 DeKalb , IL 850 Pappas Dr. --- 7/1/2014 - 8/1/2014
  • 1187 Loves Park , IL 6112 N. 2nd St. --- 7/1/2014 - 8/1/2014
  • 1938 Sugar Grove , IL 472 N. Route 47 --- 7/1/2014 - 8/4/2014
