Last week, I was sitting in my office doing some work. I looked at the window, and there were fifteen turkeys in the field behind the radio station. In the past few weeks, I've seen several big groups of them in the neighborhood. They're like a gang.
Wild Turkey Running Loose In Illinois Store
Wild turkeys are everywhere in Illinois, but especially in Rockford. It's like they're trying to take over our town. Sometimes, you'll see just a couple together, but most of the time, they're in a big group. I don't know which is worse, turkeys or geese.

For the most part, the wild turkeys just hang outside. It seems like usually in older neighborhoods in the Rockford area. At least the birds aren't trying to get inside. Well, not all the time.
During most weekends, stores like Menards are packed with customers purchasing items for home improvements. No one has time for goofy hijinks. Well, it was out of the store manger's hands in Vernon Hills. He even had to call the cops.

A wild turkey had somehow gotten into the Menards. It wandered all over the store. The bird even found a spot to hang out and watch the people shopping. The police were able to capture the turkey and take it back to the outdoors.
According to Fox 32 in Illinois, an unusual customer made its way into a suburban Menards store on Saturday, causing quite a stir among shoppers and staff – a wild turkey.
