Police in Illinois are searching for a shoplifter and the description is he will probably smell really good.

Why Do People Try To Shoplift?

Why do people try to shoplift? I think that is a really good question. Especially, nowadays with surveillance cameras all over stores. Plus, all the new technology that police officers can use to catch criminals. It's not even worth the risk. They are pretty much asking to go to jail. My guess is they're desperate.

Why Do Shoplifters Steal Certain Items?

I read stories about shoplifters all the time. I often wonder why they take unusual items. Some things make sense like necessities like food and medicine. I can understand expensive merchandise like jewelry or electronics. Even booze is reasonable if they want to party. I remember hearing about a guy who stole a bunch of deodorants. Maybe, a couple but not sixty. Is he going to sell it on the black market? Try explaining that one to your cellmate in jail.

Illinois Police Searching For Best Smelling Shoplifter In Illinois

Here is the perfect example of strange items stolen by a shoplifter. At a Walgreens in Elmhurst, a shoplifter took off with several bottles of cologne. I give him a little credit because he at least wants to smell good. I'm thinking there's a better way to achieve that goal.

According to patch.com,

A man stole multiple cologne products about 9 p.m. Thursday at Walgreens, 160 N. Robert Palmer Drive. The man was last seen heading north on York Street.
