Bizarre Items That Are Actually Illegal To Bring Into Illinois

Illinois is a state people are constantly visiting and driving through. Whether it's to see Chicago or to head across the country, we attract many people. Well, you better think twice when you pack because there are items that are illegal to bring into the state.

Alright, so I'm a little confused. I know we have United States laws about importing things into our country illegally but I thought that pretty much covered everywhere. That's not enough for each state so they came up with their regulations including Illinois. Some of them will definitely make you chuckle.

Items That Are Illegal To Bring Into Illinois

Because we get so many people visiting, I was genuinely curious about items that are banned from bringing into the state.

This might be an obvious one, but I had absolutely no idea about the regulations of size. Guess you learn something new every day.

Definitely a little confused by this one. Never knew this was a thing, but I'm sure on some level there is a good reason behind it.

# 3 No Open Alcohol In Vehicle When Entering The State (even for the passenger).

Kind of an obvious one, right?

# 4 Pets Must Be Certified By A Vet Before Entering

Don't worry, our furry friends are still welcome. Just make sure they have a thumbs up from a vet that they're certified.

# 5 Livestock

If you're bringing these guys into Illinois, you'll need to have a special permit to do so.

# 6  Dangerous Animals (which seems pretty obvious).

Again... another one that's kinda obvious.

Certain species of fish need special approval in order to be brought into the state.

# 9 Fireworks (I'm guessing not a lot of residents know about this one because I see and hear them all over Illinois around the 4th of July holiday).
