I don't know about you, but I have these amazing memories from when I was a child. I had the opportunity to visit some really cool places as I was growing up. My parents like to go on adventures, and I was usually along for the ride.

My parents always enjoyed going out to dinner once a week. They started doing that when they first got married. Of course, they had those local favorites in their rotation, but they like trying new places all the time, too.

I was lucky as a kid to have tried many iconic restaurants in Illinois. One that sticks out in my mind is the Gail Street Inn in Chicago. That place was one of the best of all time in the Windy City. Visitors from out of town put it on their bucket list of eateries to try.

Unfortunately, the Gale Street Inn announced it was closing its doors forever after 62 years in business. It's a very sad day for fans of this famous restaurant. There have been so many families that have made long-lasting memories there.
