It's hard for me to believe how disgusting the residents of Illinois can be. Show me a public restroom and I'll show you one that was totally destroyed by someone. I've literally walked into a bathroom and right away walked out because it was so gross.

Since many of the people in Illinois live like Oscar the Grouch, there are some things that I just avoid using in a public setting. For example, a public drinking fountain. Unless I'm seriously thirsty and there's no other choice, I'm going to skip it altogether.

Recently, an incident at a Chipotle restaurant in Illinois proved that my instinct to avoid using public fountains was right on. A customer walked into the burrito joint and used the drinking fountain in the completely wrong way. He urinated in it.

What kind of sick person does something like that, especially right in the middle of a busy restaurant? Plus, it's not like he's some little kid. The suspect is definitely old enough to know better. He got arrested for that dumb act.

A 54-year-old Addison man was charged last week with disorderly conduct, Elmhurst police said.

 

Elmhurst police said a 54-year-old Addison man used the fountain at Chipotle Mexican Grill, 139 N. York St., for the wrong reason: He urinated in it.

 

The incident occurred about 6 p.m. on Wednesday, police said, the man was charged with disorderly conduct and released.
