When you think tacos, you probably think beef, chicken, and pork, but what about Brussel sprout tacos? Yes, they're a real (delicious) thing in Wisconsin.

Once upon a time, it was the mid-90s. I was sitting at the dinner table with my parents, my sister and my brothers and probably a glass of diet coke while we were eating tacos and I thought to myself, man I hate tacos.

I know, you weren't expecting me to say that, but it's true. I spent two entire decades thinking I hated tacos.

In my twenties, I realized I really just don't like sour cream or ground beef or un-melted cheese. But tacos? I actually LOVE tacos.

Tacos with chicken, or pork, or steak... but what about Brussel sprout tacos?

Where Do You Get Brussel Sprout Tacos?

Yes, I love those too, and I recently discovered them at Truk't in Beloit, Wisconsin.

Truk't is one of those places where you know everything on the menu is there for a reason. What I mean is, I don't really stress about an ingredient added to an item that I'm not sure about, I'm pretty confident it's there for a reason.

I knew that there were charred Brussels sprouts on the appetizer menu, and I've had them before and they were amazing - but I didn't know those Brussels sprouts has moved from the appetizers to the taco menu, which clearly happened a year ago, whoops!

I obviously had to order one, and I did, and it was just as delicious as I thought it was going to be. THAT GARLIC AIOLI.

Just saying... if you're looking to try something you never thought you would... grab the Charred Brussels taco at Truk't.

What Else is on the Menu?

I also ordered a chicken tinga taco and the pork belly taco. The Brussels was the best! Followed by the chicken and then the pork belly.
