Life can change in a blink of an eye.  For this mom in Rockford, Illinois, her life suddenly changed on September 12th, 2022 after having a rare reaction to a prescribed medication.

Emily Herbert is a single mother who was just about to start a new job the day she was rushed to the hospital after feeling really unwell.  After symptoms started getting worse and they knew something wasn't right, she received the most unimaginable news.

She was diagnosed with Steven Johnson's syndrome; a rare disorder of the skin.

"It's usually a reaction to medication that starts with flu-like symptoms, followed by a painful rash that spreads and blisters. Then the top layer of affected skin dies, sheds and begins to heal after several days." -MayoClinic

The video below shows the progression of how fast this disease took over Emily's mind, body, and life in a matter of days.

After arriving at the hospital Monday, September 12th, Emily has since been in the ICU Burn Unit at a Chicago hospital fighting for her life. Stay strong, girly! YOU GOT THIS!

Hospital bills get expensive, we all know that.  Being in the hospital for over 2 weeks is even more expensive.  A GoFundMe was created to help Emily and her daughter Lyla through this difficult time while she's out of work.

Her goal is $20,000 and she's almost there.  Can we help her take some financial burdens off her mind?  If you'd like to help, you can donate here!

"The financial burden is the last thing she needs to worry about at this time. We ask if you can donate in any way or even share this so it gets to as many people as possible we would greatly appreciate it." - GoFundMe
