Rockford Man Stabbed To Death Inside An Illinois Walmart Store

A man has succumbed to his injuries after being stabbed while working at Walmart in Rockford, Illinois on Sunday night.

Many residents took to Facebook asking what the large police presence was for over at the Northridge Walmart store in Rockford.  Here's what we know right now.

On Sunday, March 24th, 2024 around 6:05pm, Rockford Police responded to a call about a stabbing incident inside the Walmart store at 3849 Northridge Drive in Rockford.

After police arrived on scene, they found an 18-year-old male with stab wounds on his back.  After being rushed to a local hospital, the male succumbed to his injuries.  He was also an employee at the Northridge Walmart at the time of the incident.

The suspect, 28-year-old Timothy Carter, was taken into custody and currently in the Winnebago County Jail.  Carter is being charged with First Degree Murder at this time.  Further details and charges will come at a later time.
