You don't have to plan a trip to the Windy City to see something incredible.

I've been; I grew up in Chicago, went to the top of the Sears Tower, and saw the rest of the impressive skyscrapers and beautiful Lake Michigan.

I also visited the Empire State Building in New York and took pictures of the city from the top.

While both of those are impressive vistas, I have never had a chance to see the city in which I have worked and lived for over twenty years.

I know what you're thinking: "What is there to look at?" My response would be, "See for yourself."

Seeing is believing. Last Friday night, my wife, family, and friends went to see Nate Bargatze at the BMO Center in Rockford.

Side note: This was a great show. Please see Nate Bargatze. He is one of the funniest stand-up comics in the business today.

Before the show, we went to the Embassy Suites for a drink.

Knowing they had a rooftop bar, I wanted to check it out. I know what you're thinking, too: "Hey man, this place has been open for a few years now."

All I've got to say in response is that I'm busy. I have kids who are into stuff, and I haven't had a chance to take it in.

Boy, am I glad we did. Looking out from the top of that roof, I could see the entire city around me.

If you get a chance, I think you should do the same. It was absolutely worth it. I mean, look at this view.
