St. Patrick's Day is kicking off this weekend and for many in Illinois, that means celebrating in larger groups and around a lot of people.  Here's why that might not be a good idea.

I was running errands yesterday, after being in quarantine from having Covid the last week and a half, and at one of my regular stops the cashier asked where I've been!  She hadn't seen me the last week, so she was just making sure I was good.  How sweet of her!  Well, I was out sick and resting the last few days.

She said she noticed everyone is catching something right now.  Maybe it's just that time of year with the weather change, but so many people are sick!

The flu, COVID, Norovirus, RSV... all of the above.  It's all in the air in Illinois.

And while the energy of St. Patrick's Day festivities is infectious, the risk of picking up an illness is equally as contagious.  So, if you're planning on spending St. Patrick's Day with friends, family, or around large groups, protect yourself and pre-game with an immunity booster shot, load up on extra vitamins, and stay far, far away from anyone who sounds or looks slightly sick.

The last thing any of us want is to be stuck in bed feeling like we're dying from catching the flu.  As much as going out sounds fun, it might not be the best time of year to put yourself at risk.  Plus, being sick is such an inconvenience!
