Illinois Peeps Love This Ice Cream Bar More Than Any Other State in the US

That familiar sound of an ice cream truck rolling down the street can only be matched by the delight of getting your favorite treat.

What if I told you, that people in Illinois like this very specific ice cream treat more than any other state in America?

According to a recent study by Finance Buzz using Google Trends they found a disturbing fact about us as Illinoisans.

Turns out we really enjoy ice cream based on this iconic cartoon character.

If your first thought was the classic Mickey Mouse ice cream bar, I'd tell you you're not alone.

If your second thought was the SpongeBob Bar, then congrats you guessed correctly. Illinois is the only state in America that says the SpongeBob Bar is their very favorite ice cream truck treat.

I don't believe I have ever thought at any point in my life about ordering a SpongeBob Bar. I know they exist, I've noticed the picture on the side of ice cream trucks.

In case you're wondering, the most popular ice cream sandwich is the most popular thing to order from an ice cream truck followed by drumsticks and then bomb pops. All three of which I would rather order than a SpongeBob Bar. Also, I've seen those SpongeBob Bars IRL and they don't look anything like the picture.
