Illinois Lands Three Spots on America’s Top Makeout Destinations List

In Illinois, we like to turn up the heat.

Sure, Summer is winding down, but that doesn't mean folks aren't on the lookout for fantastic makeout spots.

That doesn't sound right. Well, far be it from me to besmirch a fine website like Dating News dot com, a website "at the heart of the dating industry," from sharing the great news: Three Illinois locations have been ranked among America's Top 150 Makeout Spots.

While Illinois didn't quite make the top 10, 20, 30, or 40 of America's best spots to swap spit, it did take the #47 joint, and guess what? It's close to Rockford.

Starved Rock State Park is 2,600 acres of pure, incredible nature. It also includes 18 canyons, gorgeous waterfalls, incredible natural springs, and beautiful overlooks.

With over 13 miles of waterfalls, Starved Rock State Park is perfect for a walk or a kiss or two. However, you won't be able to get your car any further than the parking lot, so if you're looking for some alone time with that special somebody, keep looking.

Ten spots below Starved Rock is Garden of the Gods at Shawnee National Forest.

The Garden of the Gods is located far south of Rockford and is called the most visited area in Shawnee National Forest.

You can camp, hike, sightsee, bike, horseback ride, and camp, but just like Starved Rock, you can only park at one of their two lots that don't sound like they are off the beaten path. It's not exactly the world's greatest makeout spot, but it sure does seem romantic.

Lake Shore Drive in Chicago is the last spot on the list in Illinois.

If you're trying to make out while either dodging cars or weaving in and out of traffic on what I believe to be one of the wildest stretches of road in the entire state, you're a better person than I am.

Datings News dot com says it asked 3,000 people in the US which environments are most conducive to "automotive erotica."

There is nothing erotic about driving on Lake Shore Drive.
