When I was a kid, I didn't even know that you could actually get a pizza from a restaurant. It's not that I'd never had pizza, it's just that the only kind I'd ever had seemed to magically appear out of our own oven, and only on occasional Sunday nights.

We generally only had a rotation of two different brands of frozen pizza at my childhood home; one was Gino's pizza, and the other, made right here in Rockford, was Maria's frozen pizza (yes, that Maria's, over on Cunningham). I personally favored Maria's.

Then, we moved when I was 12, and there was a wonderful nearby pizza joint in our new town that ended up being the place where I had my first non-frozen pizza (followed by dozens more).

There Are So Many Different Brands And Types Of Frozen Pizza Available Today That It Would Take Far Too Long To Even Try To List Them

Plus, let's be honest about this. A lot of them are just plain awful, so I'm not going to waste your time on a 400-entry list of frozen pizzas when I could just as easily give you the top 5 best-selling frozen pizzas in America (info from PizzaNeed.com):

  1. DiGiorno: $232 million in sales (DiGiorno pizzas are so popular that 8.84 million Americans consumed 5 DiGiorno pizzas in the last 30 days based on a survey by Statista)
  2. Red Baron: $130.53 million in sales
  3. Totino's Party Pizza: $83 million in sales
  4. Jack's: $55.54 million in sales
  5. Tombstone: $55.18 million in sales

Survey Website StudyFinds.org Took A Look For Frozen Pizzas That Are Beloved By Pizza Experts And Fans Alike

The piece at StudyFinds.org shows that the experts didn't necessarily think that the best selling frozen pizzas were the best ones out there (although they chose the same number one), as these results show:

  1. Digiorno
  2. Newman's Own
  3. Screamin’ Sicilian
  4. Tony’s
  5. Red Baron

What StudyFinds.org didn't expect was the outcry from fans about one certain Illinois-made frozen pizza being left off of the list of the best. Got a guess? Think about it as you look at these photos.
