You don't know what you got until it's gone. That's the story for what used to be a massive Illinois movie theater that has been abandoned for years, but amazingly nearly everything was left behind when it closed forever.

Decaying Midwest just shared their investigation today on YouTube of an abandoned Chicago, Illinois area movie theater. They say that the TV show Chicago Fire considered this place for a movie set at one time. Incredibly, nearly everything was left inside when they closed this movie theater for good years ago.

Considering the value of those projectors, I'm surprised that some of the equipment wasn't sold to a different theater. I also don't understand why sealed boxes of candy and working Icee machines were just left as is.

It looks like others have been in this movie theater and tried to take some things of value, but most have been left intact. Just like it was frozen in time. It will likely remain that way until someone figures out something else to do with this huge lot.
