Yesterday, during my super-duper busy action packed radio show, I looked down at my Iphone at about 6:30pm and it was down to 30% battery power. I did a double take. Yikes....only 30% power! The battery lost about 70% of it's power in three hours, just sitting there! Why?

Here's the deal, normally, I charge my phone in my truck on the way to work in the early afternoon, step into the Q98.5 studio and its at 100%. I thought this was strange, other than checking a few texts and posting a few items on Facebook, I did nothing out of the ordinary. Normally my phone's battery drains to about 85% in about 3-4 hours on it's own, so I thought this was very strange.

After a brief panic I found out the culprit.  IOS 7.1! If you have an Iphone, you are probably aware that Apple issued an update to their operating system last week and I, like lots of Iphone users downloaded and installed the update. A quick search of the internet confirmed my suspicions

I found that IPhone owners have taken to Twitter, facebook and the Apple Community Forum message boards to voice their frustration at IOS 7.1, the first major update to Apple's newest operating system for iPhones and iPads.

IOS 7.1 appears to be causing several problems, including loss of battery life, poor Bluetooth connectivity and spontaneous restarts.

As of now there is no clear fix, However, according to Yahoo Tech, some people report that reinstalling the software via iTunes helps resolve some of the issues. But if you do, remember to back-up your Iphone PRIOR to doing a re-install. I'm gonna wait for the next update.
