There are those who get in the holiday spirit and then there's the Mack family.

For years, Laura Mack and her husband David have been putting together elaborate, and bright Christmas displays in Fox River Grove.

Fox River Grove is located north of Elgin about an hour from Rockford.

Since it's only an hour it's worth the drive to check out the Mack lights for two reasons. One, it might be the best in the state and two, it's been featured on national TV.

There's a show on ABC called, The Great Christmas Light Fight, which sounds like something straight out of WWE is far from a brawl in the squared circle.

The NW Herald says "Each week, the show features four families from around the country who ring in the holidays with elaborate Christmas displays." Each house is judged and one family takes home a $50,000 prize.

The show aired just this past Monday and sadly the Mack's didn't win the big prize, but due to the attention they've received from the show, the family plans on leaving the lights up past New Year's Day.

If you missed the episode you can still watch it on the ABC website.

The lights aren't ready yet at the Mack house, but they do post updates on their Facebook page.
