With Marijuana being legalized all over the United States, colleges are finding extreme value in teaching Marijuana related courses to students according to WREX.com, with the huge cannabis industry explosion in the last few years, demand is high for cultivators. Karen Midden, interim Dean of the College of Agricultural Sciences at Southern Illinois, said she receives nearly daily inquiries about the school's cannabis program and cultivators also call her looking for students with a certain amount of expertise.

Midden went on to say that some people think it's some magical thing you have to learn to grow marijuana, but she said the basic skills required to operate any greenhouse can be applied to cultivating cannabis. Southern Illinois University in Carbondale plans to package existing classes with a few different cannabis-focused courses that will make up a 30-hour Cannabis certificate program. As of now, Senator Heather Steans has been working with other legislators to draft a legalization measure that they are hoping will pass in May. So I guess Weed College is a thing now.
