Every year when the United States Postal Service's "Stamp Out Hunger" food drive rolls around I tell myself I have to put out some canned goods to donate, and every year I forget to do it.

This year, I will not be forgetting because so many of our community members struggle to put food on the table, and this is the perfect chance to help them out.

The Rockford Pantry Coalition recently told mystateline.com that there are certain items pantries always need like; canned fruit, canned vegetables, cereal, pasta, tuna.

Participating the Postal Service's Stamp Out Hunger drive is simple...just placed your donated items in a bag by or in your mailbox before your mail carrier arrives on Saturday, and then they will collect them to take to local food banks.

My bag is ready to go now, is yours?
