Five Random Smells of Illinois and Five Delicious Smells of Rockford
You can roll into a certain store, town, church, part of a house ,and know exactly where you are by the smell. You walk in, take a big inhale and the smell takes you back to a specific time. Amazing how that works. I've recently been cleaning out my parents house and the smells of growing up, what a throwback to my childhood.
What about the state and city that we live in. What smells around here, let us know we are in Illinois or in Rockford? It's easy to thing of all the "farm roads" around here and say, well there is that whole cow poop thing...which is true, but there's got to be more.
I put together a few short lists of smells in our area, and our state. Let me know what you think of these.
