A residential structure fire caused more than $50,000 in damage Friday to a home in the 2600 block of Hanson Street.

Rockford Fire Department personnel responded to the fire just after 7:30 p.m. Friday. Upon arrival, firefighters found smoke coming from the kitchen of the residence.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the kitchen and keep it from spreading throughout the residence.

No injuries were reported. Red Cross relocated two adults and four children who were living at the residence.

Damage is estimated at $55,000. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
