Sometimes you go out to dinner and have a drink, sometimes you go out drinking and need something to eat. May I suggest CJ's Public House.

I'm not sure when Javi's Tacos landed inside CJ's Public House in downtown Rockford, but I do know that over the weekend I was at CJ's and I was starving, so now I have to tell you all about the food I ate.

First of all, just like the drinks at CJ's, the food is cash only too, so bring your dollars or stop by the ATM before you order from Javi's, which is in the back or to the left of the bar depending on how you look at it.

There's more than just tacos on the menu, you've got your pretty standard bar appetizers listed on top, fries, nachos, mozzarella sticks and then you've got the tacos, burritos, quesadillas, tortas, chimichangas and wings.

Lemon pepper wings are a bit of a surprise on the menu, but hey maybe they're good.

I got a chicken quesadilla, without peppers and onions (I only like yellow and orange peppers) and it was so good.

Like so good. And it didn't make me feel like garbage after I ate it either, which isn't the truth for all fried bar food.

My friends got the nachos and the mozzarella sticks and also raved about them.

Have you ever tried Javi's?
