Well, we might be out of the woods when it comes to harsh winter weather, but it looks like large thunderstorms are moving into our area later this afternoon and into the evening. It looks like we're in for heavy rain, lots of lightning and maybe even some nickel sized hail according to the US National Weather Service in Chicago. The storm is currently headed northeast at around 60 miles per hour.

I also checked with Accuweather to compare forecasts just in case. They are saying today we'll get about 5 hours of precipitation and around 2 more hours of it overnight. Wind gusts will be around 43 miles per hour along with lightning, so if you have anything in your yard that might take flight, you might want to batten down the hatches so to speak. I look at it this way, at least it's not more snow and sub-zero temperatures.
