Bears Officially Name Foles Starting Quarterback
The Mitch Trubisky era seems to be officially over for the Chicago Bears.
The Bears are 3-0. Mitch Trubisky was the quarterback for 2 and a half of those games. That was enough for head coach Matt Nagy to officially make the switch to newcomer Nick Foles.
Foles came in and led the Bears to a memorable 4th quarter comeback and that was enough for the Bears head coach.
Trubisky's numbers for the Bears are probably better than you think.
I've watched nearly every Mitch Trubisky quarterbacked game and I would NOT have guessed that he had a nearly 2:1 touchdown to interception ration.
Trubisky will always be remembered as the QB that was taken before organization changing quarterbacks Deshaun Watson and Patrick Mahomes but to be fair, it's not his fault the Bears selected him so high in the draft.
This might be the end of the Mitch Trubisky era, but will it be the last time Mitch takes the field for the Bears? Current starter Nick Foles' longest streak of starting games without injury is 9 games. If that injury trend continues for Foles, would Trubisky be put back on the field? That's a bridge that I'm sure coach Nagy doesn't want to even acknowledge right now.
