A Rescued Horse is Shown off at the Boone County Fair [Video]

A horse that was nearly starved to death horse and rescued from a Boone County Farm last year was shown off at the Boone County Fair this week.

It's hard to believe but this horse was skin and bones, weighing only 800 pounds when Lora Bertell rescued him.

How awesome to see Phoenix rise high in the sky with the winning of two ribbons at the Boone County Fair and to see he's healthy, happy, and just beautiful. this is truly a rags to riches story.

It saddens me that people can be so cruel to animals. They have done nothing to deserve such treatment. I am forever grateful for those that see the beauty through the hes and pain in animals and make it their mission, just Lora Bertell, to protect and care for defenseless animals.
