Around this time each year, I go through flashbacks of how my life was touched by birth defects. That's why I am so passionate about helping the Rock River Valley March for Dimes. I lost my fourth daughter to a birth defect.

May 9, 1999, my wife and I lost baby Anna. She would have been 15 years old this year. That's hard to believe. We were told she would have Downs Syndrome, but we didn't care. My wife carried her to term, but a massive birth defect took her before she was born. Hard times that I wish on no one.

So, every year, you'll see me cheering on walkers and kicking off the March of Dimes March for Babies Walk in Winnebago County. This year, the event is Sunday, May 4, starting at the Verdi Club in Rockford. I would love to see ya there.

To join, get forms at the Q98.5 Studios, 3901 Brendenwood Road, Rockford, Ill., or go to marchforbabies.org. Hope to see you there getting exercise and helping the March of Dimes.
