A woman took to Facebook to post that her grandchildren got bed bugs from a Rockford hotel.

Last night, Angel Holliman took to the 'Rockford Neighborhood Issues' group on Facebook to share that she believes her grandchildren got bed bugs from the Comfort Inn in Rockford.

Angel writes, 'My granddaughter and her two girls came to Rockford just this past weekend to visit family. She booked in to the Comfort Inn and her kids got bedbug bites literally everywhere. I just thought I'd post this to warn people yep, Rockford motel/hotel's have bedbugs. Because if they got them you can bet other places do to.'

While the Comfort Inn hasn't responded to these claims, the bed bug issue in Rockford seems to be, in fact, an issue.

Bed Bug Reports shares details about reported bed bugs based on location and Rockford has more than a few entries.

However, those reports were mostly in 2016 and 2017, so there is a chance that we are not currently infested in Rockford, but you can never be to careful when it comes to something like this.

According to Bed Bug Reports, when you get to a hotel you should do a check for bed bugs immediately, listing these steps for preventing infestation.

Pick up the mattresses in the rooms and look under it. Check around the edges of the box springs.
2. Check under the box spring.
3. Lift up each headboard an lie it on the bed. Carefully inspect the hole where the headboard was lifted out of. Also, inspect all niches and corners of the headboard.
4. If you decide to stay in the hotel, do not put any clothes in dressers. Keep them in your luggage and your dirty clothes in plastic bags.

Now I must apologize because I know after reading this article you're feeling itchy.
