It's officially winter now, and since Mother Nature has been a little slow to pull the snow trigger, it's a good thing the Rockford Park District has a snow maker so we can finally have some winter fun!

Every day as I drive home from work I pass by the Alpine Hills Adventure Park and Golf Center, and I have noticed something very cool the last few days; snow! Why are they making snow you ask? So we can tube, ski, and snowboard at Rockford's new Gateway Parks attraction!

I am so excited to check this out! Santa brought Ella a sled for Christmas, and ever since then I have felt as if this sled is a jinx. We have no snow, and my husband and I are chomping at the bit to take Ella out for her first sledding adventure. This new park may be the perfect answer!

Did Santa forget to bring you a snow tube? Or perhaps a new snowboard? No worries! Tube rental is free at this new park, and they have the highest quality ski and snowboard gear available to rent, plus expert instructors to teach you how to use it.

Are you as excited as I am for your first trip down the hill? We're in luck! They're open 10a.m. to 8p.m. today and New Year's Day, every weekend and days when school isn't in session. Weeknights they are open 4 to 8p.m. Learn more information here.

See you soon on the slope, my friends!
