Winnebago County Animal Services is joining up with 900 other shelters across the country on Saturday, August 18 for a nationwide pet adoption event.

Anyone looking for a new cat or dog, 6 months and older, will have their adoption fees waived at the 4517 North Main Street location from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The press release states "All adoptions include a free wellness exam, spay or neuter, microchip, vaccinations including a one-year rabies shot, flea and tick preventative, and more. Winnebago County residents also receive a one-year rabies registration tag."

However, before you can adopt you must have an approved application along with an ID. Those approved will enter the building first and will also have a separate line up before the event begins.

This is an amazing event. The cages are full at Winnebago County Animal Services and you can adopt a new family pet today. Start NOW by filling out your online application.
