Well this is a bit of good news. The old K-Mart and Sears Essentials building has been sold.

Now the question is what will be going in there?

The Rockford Register Star reports that "the real estate development group, First Midwest Group, are in the final stages of purchasing the vacant Kmart building at East Riverside Boulevard and Forest Hills Road."

"Plans are to repurpose the existing site, improve access and construct at least four additional buildings. The businesses that may locate on the property have not been named."

Hmmm... I just wonder what will be going in there?

Let's see we already have Meijer and Target to fit in with the all the Wal-Marts around the area. So I'm pretty sure that's not what will be setting up shop there.

What do you think would be great fit to go into that space?

What stores don't we have here in Rockford that you would like to see come to town?

It would be nice to see another Chick-Fil-A go up. The one on Perryville is always so cramped.
