At the beginning of 2016 Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus announced that in response to public outcry, they would be phasing out and retiring all their show elephants. The process is now complete, and the final 11 elephants recently arrived in Florida where they were treated to a very special retirement brunch.

These beautiful elephants will now spend their days free; roaming the pastures at the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Center for Elephant Conservation in Florida. The arrival of the elephants to The Center for Elephant Conservation will make big strides in the study and reproduction of endangered Asian elephants, ensuring their survival for generations to come.

The circus may never be the same without these huge, magnificent animals, but I'm so happy to see they are finally free at last!

Thanks for the memories and entertainment, elephants. Enjoy your retirement.
