In case you didn't know, the state of Illinois is celebrating its 200th birthday in 2018, and state officials want to celebrate by highlighting the brightest and most defining moments of this state's 200 year history.

Every two weeks for the rest of the year, a new category of Illinois greatness will be open for public voting. These categories will feature everything from the state's best leaders and entertainers, to Illinois' worst tragedies and greatest moments.

The first category, movies, opened for voting on Monday and features all kinds of great flicks set or filmed in Illinois like Ferris Bueller's Day Off and A League Of Their Own. Illinois residents can vote for the favorite movie through Noon on March 2, 2018, and then a new category will open for voting.

See the complete list of movie nominees and vote for your favorites now at illinoistop200.com.

One last thing, if you would like to suggest nominees you feel may have been overlooked, share them on social media using the hashtag #ILTop200.
