Dumb criminals, bad dog owner, but one happy dog! It happened in Chicago.The owner of the SUV may be unhappy about the break in, but his dog is one happy fellow.

A surveillance video provided by Chicago's Irish Nobleman Pub captured a car break-in that occurred on Monday morning that may have unknowingly saved a dog's life.

DNAinfo reports that a German Shepherd who appears to be left locked in a SUV. The released video shows the doors of the vehicle locked and windows up when two burglars smash the vehicle's window with an object and steal a laptop computer.

It estimated that the outdoor temperature at the time was 82 degrees and the interior of the vehicle was 125 degrees.

DNA INFO says at 10:30 a.m., the vehicle owner finally returned to discover the damage and theft, and lets the dog out of the car. If you watch the video, you can see the poor animal trying to take in cool air while lying on the sidewalk.

 

it is very hard to feel any sympathy for the dog owner on the loss of his laptop, but that's just me.

The good news is the dog was saved. No word on whether the criminals were caught and whether the dog owner learned his lesson.
