Overnight thunderstorms prompted a tornado warning and reports of a funnel cloud in the Crystal Lake area, according to weather officials.

According to The Tribune, authorities have not confirmed that a tornado touched down in the area, but Crystal Lake's emergency manager reported seeing a funnel cloud and a wall cloud about 2:15 a.m., according to the National Weather Service. Winds from the storm left several small trees damaged along a stretch of Route 176.

A Crystal Lake home also caught fire after being struck by lightning, according to the National Weather Service.
