Update: As of 3:15PM today, Feb. 28th, an arrest was made for the threat written on the bathroom stall at Belvidere North High School.

MyStateLine.com reports the "Boone County Sheriff's Office announced that they had placed a 16-year-old Belvidere North student under arrest for making the threat. He's charged with felony disorderly conduct."

The Belvidere School District 100 sent a message to all parents of students at the school in response to the threat.  Click here to see the letter.

According to MyStateLine.com, "A social media post has prompted concerns at Belvidere North High School, after someone reportedly wrote on a bathroom stall that they would "shoot up" the school on Wednesday."

After the shooting in Florida there has been chaos in Illinois schools. Today that continues with a threat that Belvidere North High School would be "shot up".

MyStateLine.com reported, "Threats to schools across the country have been up since the school shooting at a Florida high school that killed 17 students earlier this month. Last week two other threats were investigated at stateline schools, one on Thursday at Auburn High School and another on Friday at Stillman Valley High School."

Even though the fear of Florida is in the back of our minds it appears that all is well on campus. At least for now anyway. "A Boone County Sheriff's Department squad car was parked outside Belvidere North Wednesday morning. Eyewitness News has reached out to District 100 for comment, but have not yet received a response."
