Billy Gilman is The Voice's Season 11 runner-up. The former country singer-turned-pop artist placed second to Sundance Head during Tuesday night's (Dec. 13) finale.

Head was crowned The Voice's newest champion, with his wife, children and extended family joining him onstage as confetti rained down and his fellow contestants and the TV singing competition's coaches hung around to congratulate him. Head's win was the fifth for a Blake Shelton team member during the show's run.

Gilman and Head stood together -- the final two competitors -- in the moments before Head was announced as The Voice's Season 11 champion. Alicia Keys' team member We McDonald placed third in the competition during Season 11, while Gilman's fellow Team Adam member, Josh Gallagher, placed fourth.

Gilman skyrocketed to stardom following the release of “One Voice,” his debut single, in 2000; he was 11 years old at the time, making him the youngest country artist to ever earn a Top 40 hit. Gilman’s album of the same name earned double-platinum status, but his following singles and albums did not achieve the same level of success. In November of 2014, Gilman revealed that he is gay — and called out the country music industry to support LGBTQ artists. When auditioning for The Voice, Gilman landed on Adam Levine's team during the blind auditions.
