The Rockford Park District Is Giving Away Free Trees Saturday

Earth Day is this Saturday, April 22, and in honor of it, the Rockford Park District is giving away free trees on Saturday while supplies last.

As a kid I remember getting tree saplings from McDonald's on Earth Day and being so excited to plant them in our yard and watch them grow. I now live in the same neighborhood as my childhood home, so I often walk by the house and those once teeny, tiny trees are still there and massive now.

I hope I can get my family out of the house early enough this Saturday to pick up one of these free trees from the Rockford Park District so that my daughters can plant their trees and watch them grow too.
