After sitting vacant for over a year the former Ruby Tuesday's in Rockford is getting a new life.

You've probably noticed, when driving by on E. State, a lot of activity going on at the old Ruby Tuesday's.

WIFR reports that the California restaurant chain, Dog Haus, picked Rockford as their one new five locations to expand their brand.

The restaurant will specialize in hot dogs (that's a no brainer with the name Dog Haus),  burgers and sausages. Also, chicken sandwiches, sides, shakes, beer and wine. (rockford.doghaus.com)

According to their website, doghaus.com, what sets this restaurant apart from any other burger and hot dog place is that Dog Haus is known for it's "signature all beef Haus Dogs and hand crafted proprietary Haus Sausages, as well as their 100% genetically tested, humanely raised Black Angus beef using no hormones and no antibiotics – never ever. All dogs, sausages and burgers are served on grilled King’s Hawaiian rolls."

Oh man all of that sounds so good. Doesn't it? I so can't wait till it opens.

It should be anyday now as the Rockford Register Star reported that their opening is slated for Fall 2017.
