This is a great, free, family-friendly event to check out 1401 N. Second Street in Rockford, Illinois January 14-17, 2015. The right amount of snow fell just in time. With the cold, it is sure to keep things secure for the week for the artists to work their magic.
According to the Rockford Park District, State teams will begin sculpting at 7am this Wednesday, Jan 14 and will end at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 17at which time judging will occur. Plus, the public gets to vote for the 'People's Choice' Award between 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Saturday. All winners will be announced and awards will be handed our at 1:30 p.m. in the Sinnissippi Park Maintenance Building.
I have seen past years and all I can say is 'incredible'. You won't believe your eyes at the finished projects. Just a side note, make sure you have a camera. Good luck to all of the local high school teams competing too.
See ya there.
