To tie into the 65th anniversary of the beloved comic strip characters of 'Peanuts', and the release of the Peanuts feature-length film, the U.S. Postal Service launched a Peanuts-oriented holiday campaign. Some of the cool promotional marketing ties include special stamps, stationary, and a cool app that let's you take a picture with your favorite Peanuts member like snoopy and more. Here's how it works.

The U.S. Postal Service is not going away quietly. They are adding the popular Peanuts franchise to its tech-focused promotions to keep current, and to reach the masses.

According to Mashable.com, The USPS AR app is available for both iOS and Android devices. In order to take an AR photo, you need to find one of the postal service's 160,000 blue mail collection boxes and fire up the USPS AR app on your smartphone or camera-enabled tablet. Those blue mailboxes are all over the stateline area. Here's how it works.

The USPS first showed off its ability to promote its services using AR last year with impressive animations and graphics delivered through the first iteration of the ap. This just takes it to a whole new level.

Go find a mailbox and start to have fun creating your next selfie today.
