When we started our mission to find Hometown Heroes in the 815, 779, and 608, we always said we wanted to hear about all kinds of heroes. Yes, we love honoring military members, veterans, and first responders, but we also wanted to take this opportunity to honor 'ordinary' men and women in our communities who do extraordinary things...

I'll admit it, around this time of the year I am "Corn Fed" and proud to admit it! I will chow down six ears of corn in one sitting.

Sweet corn season is here and for me it is my favorite time of the year. Bring on the sweet corn! From now until the end of August you will find the absolute best tasting sweet corn in Northern Illinois. You are not gonna find this in your local super market, but you will find it area roadside corn stands and at local farms.
