Swedish American First to Use New Technology to Keep Newborns Safe

There is a new digital way to scan a newborn's footprints called CertaScan, and Swedish American is the first hospital in Illinois to implement this new technology.

As a mother due to give birth to her second child at Swedish American in the next few months, I am very happy to hear about this new policy regarding newborns. Some critics may think the new technology provides too much personal information, but I think no measure is too great when it comes to protecting our children.
