Local museums in the stateline are offering our military members and their families free admission this summer.

WREX shares that museums in both Dixon and Rockford have joined with thousands of other museums nationwide to show their support and gratitude to those serving in our military by offering free admission this summer.

The Ronald Reagan Boyhood Home, John Deere Historic Site and the Loveland Community House Museum along with Rockford's Discovery Center, Rockford Art Museum and Freeport Art Museum are taking part in the Blue Star program organized by the National Endowment for the Arts.

All military members and up to five additional family members will be given free admission to the museums. All they have to do is show their military ID card.

Wow! I think this is so amazing.

Our men and women in the military have done and continue to do so much for us in sacrificing much to protect us and our country, I think this it is a wonderful way to give back to them.

Granting them family time and memory making moments all the while letting them do it for free.

Q98.5 along with our friends from Barclay Construction are doing our part this month of May to honor our military by giving one lucky member a brand new roof. It's just our way of letting them know how much we appreciate all that they have done for us.

Do you know of someone currently serving or retired  that is in need and deserving of a new roof? If so we want to know about them.

You have until May 29th to nominate someone. Click the button below to get started.
