Why would you steal a gazebo? For the life of me and every upright citizen in Rockford, please help me and all of us understand.

Tiffany Hines wants to know why too. That's because Hines was the victim of a gazebo theft late last week "in the area of S. Independence Ave and Hulin" according to her post on Facebook.

Hines says "some lowlife" stole "gazebo pieces" but left the "netting and the pieces that are used to put it together" behind.

The post says the theft, all captured on a security camera, occurred on Saturday, August 1 shortly before 11 a.m.

The gazebo, valued at $250 by Hines says "I hate how hard my family works for the items we have for some lowlife to just steal them from us."

The alleged thief was driving a blue minivan. If you know anything regarding this gazebo thieving goof, please contact the Rockford Police Department at 815.966.2900.
