Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued, Country Thunder on Hold

Severe weather is moving through the Rockford Area. The National Weather Service has issued a Severe thunderstorm Warning for the area in the photo below.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning  for the following counties is in effect until 8:45pm

• Northeast Ogle
• Northwest DuPage
• Southeast Winnebago
• Northern DeKalb
• Kane
• Southern Boone
• Northwest Cook
• Southern McHenry
• Southwest Lake

This line of storms has resulted in downed trees in Richmond and Woodstock in McHenry County. Expect wind gusts up to 60 mph along with torrential rainfall.

The national weather service advises individuals to stay away from windows until the storms pass!

The storms moved though The twin lakes area of Southern Wisconsin where the Country Thunder Music festival is going on. Officials at Country Thunder have put the festival on hold for the time being. Updates can be found on the Country Thunder Facebook page
