I don't need to tell you that flooding is bad right now in the Stateline, because many of you are currently dealing with the effects of it. Our local rivers are quickly approaching record-breaking levels, and community members are scrambling to combat flood waters.

This is the current and predicted flood stage levels for the Pecatonica River at Freeport...

Not good at all.

Several Freeport residents are already struggling with flood waters, and the City of Freeport has already closed several roads because of flooding. As of Monday, October 8, the Freeport roads closed to traffic are:

Sand is available for Freeport residents at St. Paul's Missionary Baptist Church, Krape Park and Demeter Bridge. Shelters and assistance from the Salvation Army is also available for Freeport residents, get more information here.
