Singer-songwriter Ryan Hurd is continuing his breakthrough in the country music world with the release of his new single, "City Girl," and its new video.

The official music video posted on Nov. 18 shows off the singer's acting chops and sets a moody atmosphere as he's seen driving around the city, stressing over the city girl that's stolen his heart. He appears amid images of a mystery girl, while singing,  "City girl, you're gonna love me and leave me / 'Cause it ain't gonna mean what it means to me to you / When I wake up on your pillow / Start making out a little / Till it's time to say goodbye like you always do / I'm breaking my own heart / Falling in love with a city girl."

The new pop-rock track isn't the songwriter's first step into the spotlight. He released the single “We Do Us” in September of 2016, garnering 2 million spins on Spotify in just one month.  Hurd has made quite the name for himself behind the scenes as one of Nashville's top songwriters, penning hits for some of country's biggest stars including Darius Rucker, Jake Owen and Dierks Bentley. He's also one of the songwriters behind "Lonely Tonight" by Blake Shelton and Ashley Monroe.

Hurd is currently dating rising country star Maren Morris, and co-wrote one of the tracks on her critically-acclaimed debut album, Hero, which earned her a CMA Award nomination for Album of the Year. He'll join Thomas Rhett  as a supporting act on Rhett's upcoming first-ever headlining tour in 2017, the Home Team Tour, in addition to joining Morris for select shows on her own first headlining tour, the Hero Tour 2017.
