Rockford’s Oldest Restaurant, Der Rathskeller Is For Sale

If you have an extra $325,000 laying around, and you have a passion for German food, history, and traditions, you could soon be the new proud owner of Rockford's oldest restaurant.

Der Rathskeller owner, Betty Giesen says if the restaurant does not sell by the end of the year, she will take it off the market and continue to have her son help her manage the day-to-day operations. She would really like to retire, but only if she is able to find the perfect person to continue this cherished Rockford tradition.
